ABCollege School of Law welcomes back Atty. Josh Pacatang as its Dean

The School of Law of the Andres Bonifacio College welcomes back seasoned lawyer and successful legal practitioner,  Atty. Josie Sarmiento Pacatang, (or Josh, as he prefers to be called by his name) as the Dean of the School of Law on June 25, 2012 at 5:30p.m through a General Assembly held at the College Auditorium, AGPS Building of Andres Bonifacio College.

Dean Josh Pacatang, was a graduate of Bachelor of Laws, Cum Laude, from Silliman University in 1961. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1962 and immediately engaged in the legal practice and commissioned as Notary Public since then. As private law practitioner, he achieved the following: June 6, 2002 Golden ZNortean Award, the Most Prestigious Award in the Law Profession by the Province of Zamboanga del Norte, as selected by a Selection Committee headed by Dr. Hilario S. Gomez, PhD Graduate of Princeton University in the United States of America; on January to March 2003, he completed and passed the Pre-Judicature Post Graduate Course (Phase 1 and 2) at the Philippine Judicial Academy in Manila sponsored by the Supreme Court and PJA under Justice Ameurfina A. Melencio-Herrera.

Dean Pacatang served as Dean and Professor of Law in Andres Bonifacio College  in 1970 to 1987; during his period the Bonifacio Law Journal, the official Publication of Andres Bonifacio College, won 3rd place in the UP Law Center Contest of Law Journals among law schools nationwide.

Dean Pacatang returns to Andres Bonifacio College the second time around after the equally distinguished management by the late Dean Narciso Barbaso and Dean Eustolia Mata.

As a practicing lawyer, Dean Pacatang handled many cases that reached the Supreme Court. These have proven his expertise in the legal profession, not to mention also his passion for achieving academic excellence in teaching Law to the Law students of Andres Bonifacio College.

The said General Assembly was also held to welcome freshmen and the students form 2nd to 4th year to the new school year. The roster of faculty members of the School of Law was also introduced in the said General Assembly. Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Atty Ernesto Amatong, and his wife, former Secretary of Finance, Juanita D. Amatong, graced the said affair together with the College President Sancho S. Amatong, the Vice President of Academic Affairs Nellie R. Saberon, and the Administrative Officers of the College
