8 New Lawyers emerged from ABCollege School of Law

Andres Bonifacio College School of Law once again proved its might as the Pioneer Builder of Leaders and professionals as eight (8) ABCollege School of Law graduates hurdled the November 2015 Philippine Bar Examination administered by the Supreme Court of the Philippines. The bar exams were conducted on four Sundays of November (7, 14, 21, and 28), 2015 at the University of Santo Tomas (UST), España, Sampaloc, Metro Manila.

The new ABCollege lawyers are: Atty. Mary May A. Abellon, Atty. Cattleya B. Acaylar, Atty. Alvin G. Bontuyan, Atty. Jon Eric G. Co, Atty. Kristine Mae A. Mutia, Atty. Goldie Love I. Poculan, Atty. Geralyn T. Romarate and Atty. Vanessa Marie C. Vallecer-Patcho. ABCollege also acknowledges the success of Atty. Rodolfo M. Guimbarda, Jr., a graduate of Silliman University, who took his refresher course and the 2014 pre-bar examination at the ABCollege School of Law. Andres Bonifacio College is accredited by the Supreme Court to offer refresher course.

Out of the 7,146 examinees who took the bar in 2015, only 6,600 completed the bar examination covering the eight different subjects — Political and Public International Law, Labor and Social Legislation, Civil Law, Taxation, Mercantile Law, Criminal Law, Remedial Law, and Legal and Judicial Ethics. Out of that number, a total of 1,731 or 26.21 percent made the cut which is the sixth highest since 2001 Bar Examination.

When asked about the batch’s performance, Dean Ma. Cheryl Angela P. Barbaso, Dean of the School of Law, said that “The 2015 bar takers took the challenge of beating the number of passers each year and they did it. We just wish for our graduates to succeed and reach their dreams.”

The result was officially released by the Supreme Court on May 3, Tuesday, past noontime. (Kevin James Limbaga)
