HS Batch ’86 visits ABCollege, donates DLP projector

The Andres Bonifacio College High School Batch 1986 has recently visited the College last June 30, 2011. The said visit is in celebration of the Batch’s 25th Anniversary which they are celebrating this year. Around forty (40) High School Alumni trooped to their Alma Mater; some of them came home after long years of staying abroad just for the said event.

The group, led by their Class President Mr. Noah Omamalin, made a quick but emotional tour around the campus. “I feel nostalgic being here,” said one alumna. “We used to roam around the place and we used to sit in this park. We had great memories here,” said another alumna, referring to MerVen Park, a garden situated near the Old High School Building which was cultivated by students from Sections Mercury and Venus. It was indeed a memorable visit for the batch as the building where they used to build their dreams of success is in its last days. The old high school building was vacated this year to pave way for a  new High School building which will be constructed anytime soon. The High School Department is temporarily using the classrooms at the Law Building and at the Amando B.  Amatong Civic Center.

After the tour, the group proceeded to the Audio-Visual Room at the Science and Technology Building to host a short program. The audience consisted of 4th Year High School students and some officials of the College. Engineer Jefferson S. Manrique, Officer-In-Charge of the Alumni and Public Affairs Office, formally welcomed  the group.

The said program showcased messages and testimonies from selected members of Batch ’86. Most of them talked about their hardships while they were studying. But what was profound in all their speeches was that none of them failed to mention how Andres Bonifacio College molded them into the individuals that they are now – successful and proud graduates of ABCollege.

Prizes and freebies were also given to the students who gamely participated in the Question and Answer portion wherein trivial questions about Batch ’86 were asked. The highlight of the said program was the donation of a brand new Acer Digital Light Processing (DLP) Projector which the group brought from the United States. It was formally received by the College Comptroller Mrs. Helen C. Amatong who expressed her gratitude in behalf of the College to the High School Batch of 1986 for sharing their blessings to their Alma Mater.
