Andres Bonifacio College Alumni Association, Inc

The Alumni association Inc. of Andres Bonifacio College was founded formally in 1968 by a handful of graduates headed by Atty. David Morandarte.  Their objective were: to promote mutual interest of the Andres Bonifacio College and its alumni: to help maintain the most beneficial relation between the College and its alumni: and to consistently aid and advise the College in any and every manner deemed desirable.  But even before that, the Alumni Association was organized, but unincorporated, in the mid-fifties when Mr. Prudencio Tiu,  the first mayor of Manukan, Zamboanga Del Norte, was elected president.

On November 30, 2006,  the association drafted a new by-laws, ratified and adopted by an affirmative vote of the members of the Association in an annual meeting duly assembled at the Alumni Hall, College Park, Dipolog City.

Looking back, The Andres Bonifacio College turned out its first high school graduates in April 1947; Associate in Arts and Elementary Teacher’s Certificate graduates in 1948, Bachelors of Secondary Education in 1950;   Bachelor of Arts in 1952;  Bachelors of Laws in 1953;  Bachelor of Science in Commerce in 1954;  Surveying in 1960; Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1972; Vocational-Technical in 1973; Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Bachelor of Science in Social Work in 1979; Master of Business Administration and Master of Arts in Teaching Elementary Agriculture in 1981; Bachelor of Science in Criminology in 1983; Master of Arts in English and Literature in 1987; Master of Arts in Filipino in 1988; Master Art in Educational Management in 1991; Bachelor of Science in Geodetic Engineering in 1994; Master of Arts in Public Administration in 1995; Master of Arts in Social Studies in 1998; Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in 2000; Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communication Engineering in 2006; and Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering in 2007.

All of the first and second batches of the Law graduates of the College passed the Bar Examinations in 1963 and 1954;  the first Commerce graduate passed the Certified Public Accountant’s Board Examinations in 1957 and obtained the 10th place nationwide; the first Surveying graduates passed the Private Land Surveyors’s Examinations in 1961; the first Civil Engineering graduates passed the Civil board examinations in 1972, the first Geodetic graduates passed the board examinations in 1974; the first Social Work graduates passed the board examinations in 1981; the first and only one Electronics and Communication Engineering graduate passed in 2006; and the first batch of Nursing graduates passed the Nursing Board Examinations in 2006 with a passing percentage second to the highest in Region IX.

In many Bar, Board or licensure examinations, the Andres Bonifacio College Alumni have proven that topping government examninations nationwide is not the monopoly of big universities and colleges in the country. (see the main page for the list of our topnotchers)

Moreover, many alumni, topnotchers or not, have distinguished themselves in their chosen fields and/or professions, both in the private and government sectors, to such an extent that the College has earned for itself the reputation in Mindanao as the pioneer builder of leaders.
