ADMISSION POLICY
Andres Bonifacio College is open to all applicants who meet the requirements for admission as set forth by The Department of Education (DepEd), the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and this Institution.
Likewise, this Institution welcomes applicants who will religiously abide by its rules and regulations. Upon admission, any student is subject to all rules and regulations as stated in the Student Handbook and in various memoranda emanating from duly constituted offices of this Institution from time to time.
Academic entrance requirements vary with the program the applicant desires to enroll in. The same is true with non-academic requirements.
General Academic Requirements
New students/incoming freshmen (high school graduates) seeking admission must take the placement examination and/or qualifying examination scheduled by the Admissions officer of the Department of Admission, Student Affairs and Services (DASAS), upon presentation of the following documents:
a. Application for Admission
b. Official Receipt (O.R.) for Entrance Exam
New and Transfer Students
All new enrollees and transferees must see the DASAS or its designated Admissions Officer for document evaluation and interview.
Requirements for submission to the DASAS:
a. Transfer credentials from school last attended
b. Copy of transcript of records (TOR) or informative copy of the TOR
c. Certificate of good moral character from authorized personnel of the school last attended
d. For public school teachers/government employees, permit to study from the Division
Superintendent/Chief of Office
e. Four (4) copies of recent 2 x 2 colored picture
f. Police and NBI Clearances, when deemed necessary
g. Clear photocopy of Birth Certificate from NSO (if Alien, authenticated Alien Certificate of
Registration)
For crediting of subjects, all major subjects taken from other colleges/universities with the same number of units, description, content, and prerequisite requirements to those of this Institution’s will be credited.
Returning Students
Those who previously enrolled at this Institution and after having enrolled in other colleges/schools would like to return, are considered transfer students. They should meet the requirements for admission required of the other new students.
Resident Aliens, Naturalized Filipinos, and Students with Direct Foreign Lineage
a. Filipino-born alien students must submit a photocopy of their Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR) and Native Born Certificate of Registration (NBCR) duly certified against the original copy by the Regional Director, NCSO, Region IX
b. Children of Naturalized Filipino Citizens must submit a photocopy of Identification Certificate issued by the Commissioner of Immigration. This must be certified against the original copy by NCSO, Region IX
c. Renewed ACR must be submitted every semester
Specific Admission Requirements for Bachelor of Laws
1. Preliminary Requirements
a. He/She must be a holder of a baccalaureate degree obtained from any public or private school recognized by the government.
b. He/She must be a person of good moral character and he/she has not been charged with or convicted of any offense involving moral turpitude.
c. He/She must have passed the required entrance examination administered by the Office of the School Dean.
2. Requirements for the issuance of the Certificate of Admission into the Law course
a. Copy of Birth / baptismal Certificate
b. Certificate of Good Moral Character from two (2) former professors of the College / University where AB/ BS degree was obtained
c. Copy of complete Official Transcript of Records with extract copy of Special Order (if graduate of private school)
d. Xerox Copy of Diploma authenticated by Registrar
e. Application fee in the amount of Eighty Pesos (P 80.00) to be paid in the Treasurer’s Office
3. Interview
An interview of the successful examinee shall be conducted by the Dean to determine the moral fitness of the applicant to become a part of the School.
Specific Admission Requirements for Graduate School
1. Admission to any graduate program shall be limited to professionals who have the capacity to sustain the rigorous training inherent among the graduate schools.
2. The applicant must be personally interviewed by the dean.
3. The following credentials must be submitted during the interview:
a. Study permit from the employer/supervisor/Schools Division Superintendent. This will indicate the maximum number of units that the enrollee is allowed to enroll in; and
b. Photocopy of the undergraduate diploma.
4. The applicant must possess a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent or title from a university or other recognized institutions of higher learning.
5. As to cases when the preferred program is not in line with his/her bachelor’s degree, the applicant is required to take up the additional 12 unit-Program Preparatory Subjects (PPS) provided in the curriculum of the chosen program.
